As the business continues to grow, our client is seeking an experienced, highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Controller / Operations Coordinator to take ownership of the stock function and support the smooth running of day-to-day retail operations.

The Role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with stock management experience within fashion retail, ideally in a premium, luxury or multi-brand environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing stock movements, conducting regular stock counts and investigating discrepancies. Working closely with the Senior Merchandiser, Store Manager and wider teams, they will play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy, operational efficiency and the timely flow of products across the business.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable and commercially minded, with strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to manage responsibilities independently.

Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Inventory Management
  • Manage stock levels across the boutique, stockroom and external storage locations, ensuring accurate inventory records at all times.

  • Plan and conduct monthly cycle counts, accurately reconciling physical stock against system records across approximately 3,000 units.

  • Investigate weekly stock discrepancies and variances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

  • Maintain well-organised, clearly labelled and efficiently managed stockrooms and storage areas.

  • Support loss prevention by ensuring secure, accurate and compliant stock handling.

Stock Movements & Logistics
  • Accurately process deliveries, quality control checks, returns, transfers and other stock movements in line with company procedures.

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including packing, dispatch and relevant documentation.

  • Liaise with suppliers, couriers and internal teams to ensure the smooth and timely movement of stock.

  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly.

Systems, Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using Lightspeed, Excel and internal systems.

  • Complete detailed data entry and format order confirmations accurately, ensuring all deadlines are met.

  • Use Excel to manage and analyse stock data, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and formulas.

  • Assist the Senior Merchandiser with inventory and sales reporting, stock analysis and replenishment.

  • Work collaboratively with the sales, e-commerce, merchandising and finance teams to maintain accurate stock availability.

Wider Operational Support
  • Assist with special projects, VIP events and appointments, brand launches and collection launches.

  • Support the wider operations team with ad hoc duties as required.

Candidate Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years of stock control, inventory management or stock operations experience within fashion retail.

  • Experience in a multi-brand retail environment or a high-volume fashion brand is highly desirable.

  • Strong working knowledge of stock management systems and inventory reconciliation.

  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and formulas.

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. Italian language skills would be advantageous.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and recognise when support is needed.

  • A reliable and consistent approach, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on operational role that can involve physical work, including:

  • Lifting items weighing up to 25kg without assistance.

  • Climbing ladders and carrying out regular stockroom duties.

  • Bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling and repetitive movements.

  • Moving and transporting stock and equipment in line with health and safety procedures.
