Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturer in Reading is seeking a Goods In / Out Operative to start immediately. Job description

Rapid Personnel are working with one of the UK s leading chemical manufacturers based in Reading. Our client is responsible for exporting to more than 40 countries around the world and is the UK s market leader in the goods they produce. They are actively recruiting a Goods In / Out Operative to join their team. The role is available immediately and they re looking to begin the interview process as soon as possible.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in similar role is essential
  • Must have a FLT licence

  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities

Responsibilities:

  • Loading / Unloading (weight limits, segregation, ADR)
  • Labelling orders
  • Keep yard tidy, organised and accessible
  • Ensure safe and compliant storage of raw materials and finished product including Flammable Store
  • Manage stock rotation of raw materials move goods from warehouse to factory as required for mixes
  • Coordinate Goods in /Goods Out
  • Using scanners to correctly record stock movements
  • Stock interrogation
  • Decant product from IBC s into smaller containers as needed for customer orders
  • Assist with the process for aged stock, empty IBC s and washings
  • Compile waste lists for removal from site
  • Organise skip removal and oversee correct use by factory workers
  • Ensure accurate & timely stock transactions are recorded
  • Carry out & oversee stock checks - weekly / monthly submissions to sales and purchasing
  • Assist with producing stock reports
  • Check all finished IBC s are sealed / cable tied

Hours, Pay and Benefits:

  • 8am 4.30pm with half an hour unpaid lunch break and two paid 15 minute morning / afternoon breaks.
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hour week
  • GBP14.00 per hour
  • 23 days holiday (3 of which need to be taken during Christmas shutdown) plus statutory Bank Holidays
  • Company pension after successful completion of probation period
