Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the West Midlands is looking for an organized individual to assist the Purchasing Manager in stock control analysis. This role requires excellent communication and superior Excel skills. The candidate must have at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths. The position is on-site, working 40 hours per week, and may require occasional UK travel for training. A background in stock control and knowledge of D365 is desirable but training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs to grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths.
  • Candidates must have superior Excel skills.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Job description
Overview

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within our clients busy department of a large manufactuering orgsnisation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with all analytical aspects of stock control. Daily duties will include excel analysis of stock levels and trends, liaising with category/department managers and the commercial team to ensure minimum and maximum levels are set correctly and all stock requirements are covered.
  • Liaising with logistics to actively contribute to the control and utilisation of space.
  • To escalate any issues which arise to the line management at the earliest possible moment to enable the management structure to resolve any issues in a timely fashion.
Qualifications and Skills
  • The successful candidate will have excellent computer and communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to prioritise their workload, work diligently and meticulously to company procedures.
  • Essential knowledge/skills: Minimum 5 GCSEs to grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication skills. Clear and effective with all levels throughout the business including senior management.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Superior Excel skills and knowledge is essential.
  • Happy to travel (although minimal) across the UK for training/meetings.
Desirable
  • Stock control background.
  • Knowledge of D365 system but full training will be provided.
  • Manufacturing background.
Role Details

This is an on site role 5 days per week, working 40 hours per week, some flexibility is required during audit schedules as this may run over a standard working day.
