Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a dedicated dishwashing and housekeeping team member at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This full-time role (40 hours weekly) involves mid-day to evening shifts, with every weekend and holidays required.

You will maintain sanitary, safe, and clean conditions in line with hospital and Joint Commission standards. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing dishes, hauling patient-tray carts, disinfecting dining areas, and handling cleaning

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work (Utah/Idaho only).
• Reads color coded labels and chemicals and follows written and verbal directions.
• Demonstrates ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
