Job summary

Nuffield Health at the Wetherby HSSU Hub is seeking a Decontamination Process Technician to join on a bank basis, with ad hoc hours and weekend coverage. You will dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments for theatre, inspect equipment and help ensure everything is in good working order.

The role requires basic education, good literacy/numeracy, and computer literacy; experience in sterile services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and motivated with sterile services environment exposure.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Able to show evidence of sterile services training.
• Reliable and team‑oriented.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments for theatre.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
• Help ensure all equipment is in good working order.
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report faults.
• Work with a strong friendly team and take on training as required.
• Be computer literate and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.
• Escalate issues where necessary.
