A leading World Class Defence Organisation in Bolton is seeking a Stereolith Engineer subcontractor for a 12-month contract. This role involves managing the 3D printing process, supporting trials, and liaising with design teams. Candidates should have experience with CAD software and 3D printing technology, alongside strong communication and analytical skills.
World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is currently looking to recruit a Stereolith Engineer subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract, with very likely extension.
Must have CAD experience (Creo or SOLIDWORKS / CATIA / FUSION360) and experience with 3D print software, can be printer specific.
Does not need to be tool design level CAD – relatively basic understanding of CAD would be acceptable – will not be working on the design team, but will be liaising with them to improve print designs.
Will be working with a Resin based 3D printer, not a filament based printer.
Rate: £36.00 per hour
Overtime Rate: Hours worked over 37 hours/week paid at ‘time and a quarter’
Location: Bolton
Hybrid / Remote working: The role is onsite 5 days per week.
Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

The Stereolithography department provides plastics rapid prototyping 3D printing solutions using the latest equipment, materials, and software to print models, prototypes, tooling, and display models.
We are seeking a dedicated senior engineer to support the 3D printing manufacturing process, oversee equipment/facility upgrades, and maintain full capability of the facility throughout the year.
This role offers involvement in printing CAD models generated by hundreds of design engineers supporting various projects. You will manage the 3D printing process from start to finish and support trials of new resin materials and equipment.
Reporting to the Principal Manufacturing Engineer, who will provide training and support, you will assist in tasks to maintain department throughput.
Manufacturing/Process engineer experience with 3D printing, CAD, prototyping, or tooling design is beneficial. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint are required.
