EdEx - Education Recruitment is assisting a high-performing Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Hammersmith & Fulham to recruit a STEM Graduate as a STEM Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time and term-time only, with exciting scope for teacher training starting September 2027.

The post is ideal for a proactive STEM graduate considering a career in teaching, offering valuable classroom experience ahead of a PGCE.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated or strong academic background preferred.
  • Experience with young people desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aspiring teachers encouraged to apply and pursue PGCE.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising classes across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5 when needed.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across secondary subjects.
  • Maintaining high behavioural expectations in each lesson.
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Collaborating with Teachers, Heads of Department and pastoral team.

An Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school in Hammersmith & Fulham is searching for a bright STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) to fill an exciting post ASAP. This is a full time & term time only role, with scope for teacher training in September 2027.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an intelligent and switched-on STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) who is contemplating pursuing a career in teaching to gain that crucial classroom experience before committing to a PGCE.

What will this STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) role involve?
  • Supervising classes across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of Secondary subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations throughout lessons
  • Ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused and completing the work provided
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required
  • Providing additional academic support and intervention for pupils who require it
  • Working closely with Teachers, Heads of Department and the wider pastoral team
  • Developing strong classroom management, communication and leadership skills
  • Gaining invaluable Secondary School experience ahead of potential Teacher Training

PERSON SPECIFICATION
