Biomedical Scientist (Band 5) Haematology/Blood Transfusion -
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientists to join the dynamic and evolving team within the Haematology Department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board in the Stem Cell Processing Unit which manages the processing and provision of cellular therapy donations to the South Wales Blood and Marrow Transplant Programme. Duties will be allocated by the Processing Facility Director or Deputy, and will include the performance of laboratory procedures for the safe preservation, storage and provision of cellular therapy products for patient treatment and preparation and analysis of samples for engraftment assessment (chimaerism) post-transplant.
The department is looking for a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist with IBMS Certificate of Competence (or equivalent pre-2004).
Previous experience in NHS is essential.
The department would consider a trainee post at Annex 21 Band 5 (75%)

The nature of the service is such that there may be a need for the post-holder to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis.
