STEM Academic Coach

*** Provide 1:1 and small group support in the STEM subjects

The Role:
As a STEM Academic Coach, you’ll work with the science and maths departments to provide targeted support to pupils in KS3 and KS4. You’ll deliver one-to-one sessions, lead small intervention groups, and assist students with understanding challenging topics across the STEM curriculum. You will also help teachers prepare resources and encourage pupils to develop problem-solving skills and confidence in these subjects.

The Candidate:
You should hold a degree in a STEM-related field such as science, engineering, mathematics, or technology. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain ideas clearly are essential. A passion for education and helping young people succeed is crucial, while any previous experience in tutoring or mentoring will be an advantage.

Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – A strong interest in supporting students and pursuing a teaching career.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
