STEM Academic Coach

Are you a STEM graduate keen to inspire the next generation and gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school?

*** STEM Academic Coach
*** September 2025 to July 2026
*** £82–£111 per day
*** School location: Ward of Northfield
*** 1:1 and small group support within STEM subjects

The Role
As a STEM Academic Coach, you'll support pupils across science, technology, engineering, and maths—mainly at Key Stage 3 and 4. You'll deliver 1:1 and small group sessions focused on reinforcing subject knowledge, improving exam technique, and increasing engagement in core STEM subjects. You’ll work closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials, support in-class learning, and monitor student progress. This role is ideal for building subject-specific teaching skills while helping students gain confidence and clarity in challenging content.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate in a STEM field—maths, science, engineering, or computing—with strong subject knowledge and a clear, confident communication style. You’re enthusiastic about education and may be exploring a career in teaching, research, or science communication. Any prior experience supporting young people—tutoring, mentoring, or classroom work—is a bonus. You’ll need to be organised, positive, and ready to get stuck into school life.

The School
This secondary school in the Northfield ward has a strong focus on academic achievement and STEM engagement. The staff are collaborative and forward-thinking, with a dedicated programme of intervention and support for students at all ability levels. The leadership team values the contribution of graduates and offers clear guidance, resources, and opportunities to develop in the role.

If you're ready to build your skills while helping pupils thrive in STEM subjects, apply now.
