Job summary

Search Recruitment is seeking experienced Steel Fixers for a long-term substation extension project at Pembroke, South Wales. You will work with a Tier 1 contractor, carrying out steel fixing to drawings, installing reinforcement and ensuring safe, compliant execution on site.

Starting ASAP, the role offers minimum seven months of continuity with an estimated hourly rate of £30. Applicants must hold a National Grid ticket and CSCS card, and have relevant substation experience.

Qualifications

• Valid National Grid Persons ticket.
• CSCS card is mandatory.
• Steel fixing qualification or certification required.
• Experience on substations or major civils projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out steel fixing and reinforcement per drawings and specs.
• Cut, bend, position and tie reinforcement bars and mesh.
• Install reinforcement for foundations and substation structures.
• Ensure correct positioning and secure fixing before pours.
• Work with civils team to meet project deadlines.
• Follow site safety procedures and National Grid requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
