Job summary

Galliford Try Plc in Huthwaite is seeking a Fabricator to manufacture assemblies for secondary steelwork and to weld from detailed drawings. You will fabricate from small to large components, inspect to specification, and perform self-inspection using MIG welding and associated tools.

Working with overhead cranes and lifting, you will contribute to a diverse project portfolio with a strong safety culture. The role emphasizes independent and team working, adherence to drawings, and using quality

Qualifications

• Read engineering drawings to fabricate and weld steel sections.
• Experience with MIG/MAG welding on mild steel.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with site rules.
• Fabricate small to large assemblies to drawings and tolerances.
• Experience using lifting equipment and lifting heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld steelwork from detailed drawings.
• Fabricate small to large assemblies.
• Check components meet drawing specifications.
• Carry out self-inspection of work.
• Use MIG welding, cutting equipment, saws, drills and small hand tools to produce fabrications to tolerances.
• Identify problems or discrepancies and report to Fabrication Manager.
