Steelwork Detailer – Exciting Opportunity with a Specialist Steel Contractor

A leading specialist contractor with in-house steelwork capability is seeking an experiencedSteelwork Detailerto join their growing technical team. This hands-on role involves working on complex structural steel and temporary works packages, where your detailed drawings will directly inform what gets fabricated and built.

The Role

As a Steelwork Detailer, you will:

• Produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings usingTekla Structures
• Accurately model steelwork assemblies, connections, and components to suit fabrication and site conditions
• Generate GA drawings, material lists, bolt lists, and CNC files
• Liaise closely with engineers, fabricators, and site teams to resolve design and detailing queries
• Apply a buildability-focused approach to all outputs, ensuring accuracy and practicality
• Ensure models and drawings comply with relevant codes, client standards, and internal QA procedures

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven steelwork detailing experience
• Proficient inTekla Structures(essential)
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection methods, and connection types
• Familiar with Eurocodes and UK industry standards
• Skilled at interpreting structural engineering drawings and calculations
• Highly detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Experience working in a Tier 2 or subcontractor environment preferred
