The key requirements for this STE4 Examiner role are:

  • Prepare Task Briefing Sheets and assess their relevance when arriving at sites to be examined.
  • Ensure pre-prepared Safe System of Work (SSOW) is appropriate and ready before starting any examinations.
  • Conduct site inspections following industry standards and promote safe working practices.
  • Capture clear and accurate photographs to be included in examination reports.
  • Communicate the status of each inspection to the project management team upon completion.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on the required format for each specific contract.
  • Produce thorough survey reports and provide assessments of existing rail structures in line with industry standards.
  • Support management with the preparation of asset inspection tenders and quotations.

Skills and qualifications required for this STE4 Examiner role are:

  • Full UK manual (gearbox) driving licence.
  • STE4 Certification.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification.
  • At least 2 years' experience in rail infrastructure examinations, inspections, and report writing.
  • Strong IT skills and experience with report generation.
