STE05 Building Surveyor
I am currently working with a leading consultancy seeking a STE05 Building Surveyor to join their Examination Framework Team. This role will involve performing a variety of surveys and inspections on stations, depots, and lineside buildings within the Southern region. The key responsibilities for this STE05 Building Surveyor role are:
- Perform surveys and inspections on a variety of building and structure types.
- Lead and conduct various surveys, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and relevant legislation.
- Assess the condition of buildings and structures accurately, identifying defects and recommending appropriate remedial actions.
- Complete possession work and produce high quality condition assessment reports, ensuring accurate data entry into Citadel and other relevant reporting systems.
- Monitor project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure timely and accurate data submission.
- Mentor and provide support to new staff members within the team.
- Ensure compliance with safe working practices, safety responsibility statements, and relevant regulations
- Conduct outdoor work in varying weather conditions, with flexibility for weekend and nighttime shifts.
- Regularly communicate with clients to provide progress updates, address concerns, and ensure expectations are met throughout the survey process.
Experience/skills required for this STE05 Building Surveyor role are:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in building surveying, inspections, or asset management, ideally within the rail or civil engineering sectors.
- Qualified to STE05 competency.
- In-depth understanding of structural mechanics, construction types, and materials.
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) certified.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of Network Rail Standards (NR/L3/CIV/006), CDM Regulations, and safety requirements within the rail infrastructure.
- Certification or awareness in Confined Spaces, Asbestos Awareness, and Working at Height.
- Proficiency in Citadel software is desirable.
- Full UK Driving License required.
- Strong report writing skills, with the ability to interpret survey data, identify trends, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
