Job summary

Oritain is seeking a Statistical Data Scientist to build and deploy statistical models and ML methods that support our origin-verification science. You will partner with scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to turn complex data into practical solutions that influence product decisions and growth.

You will work on predictive models, analytics, and tooling to embed insights into live products and workflows, shaping how data science is applied across the company and influencing strategic

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science or related field (postgraduate study preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of commercial experience applying statistical modelling and ML to real-world problems.
• Strong grounding in probability, statistics, uncertainty, linear algebra and calculus.
• Experience with large datasets, data transformation and cleaning.
• Experience with classification, clustering, dimension reduction, and other ML methods.
• Experience using software development tools such as VS Code, Conda and GitHub, and Unix-based tools.
• Experience using Python and R to develop and deploy models in cloud environments (Azure advantageous).
• Understanding of ML lifecycles and MLOps.
• Experience with databases, APIs and collaborative development tools.
• Sharp problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process data from diverse sources.

• Develop and deploy predictive models to solve operational and commercial challenges.
• Create visualisations and dashboards for easy insight.
