Overview

Static Multi Skilled Engineer – Contract: Banking • Location: Southend-on-Sea, SS0 0EJ • Hours of work: 40 • Contract Type: Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a Static Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join the on-site engineering team. You\'ll take responsibility for delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring critical systems remain safe, reliable, and compliant. As part of a close-knit M&E team, you\'ll also oversee specialist sub-contractors, support supervisors and managers, and get involved in small project and installation work. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works with an electrical focus, ensuring delivery meets SLA requirements.
  • Act as HV/LV Authorised Person (if qualified), producing safety programmes and supporting switching operations.
  • Monitor and maintain critical building systems, including HVAC, responding effectively to changes in operating conditions.
  • Provide safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Escort and coordinate specialist sub-contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Support small-scale installation and project works.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders, escalating issues appropriately when required.
  • Contribute to risk mitigation and continuous improvement across engineering operations.
