Job summary

RG Setsquare seeks a Static Mechanical Engineer in North London to maintain and repair building services on a single site. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance of plumbing, HVAC and associated equipment, with a focus on safety, documentation and service quality.

You will diagnose faults, produce maintenance reports and ensure compliance with safety regulations while delivering excellent customer service to on-site stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Mechanical qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working procedures.
• Willingness to obtain MET Police SC Clearance.
• Comfortable using mobile devices and maintenance reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems, AHUs, extract and intake ventilation systems, FCUs and thermal wheels, booster sets, calorifiers and water heaters.
• Diagnose faults and identify defects, ensuring remedial works are completed efficiently.
• Produce accurate maintenance reports, inspections and service documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of work.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with on-site stakeholders.
• Support the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Previous experience within building maintenance, facilities management or a commercial maintenance environment
• Mechanical qualification such as City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent
• Good understanding of mechanical building services and maintenance practices
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working procedures
• Comfortable using mobile devices and maintenance reporting systems
• Strong communication skills with a proactive and professional approach
• Ability and willingness to obtain MET Police SC Clearance
