Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the discipline design basis and vendor interfaces for oil, gas and petrochemical projects. You will develop technical specifications, manage scope changes, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure QA and standards compliance.

The role requires 10–15 years in oil and gas petrochemical projects, strong English communication, and a track record of delivering design calculations, reports, and vendor clarifications on time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered status preferable for senior discipline leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage design interfaces and vendor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review design calculations for pressure vessels and tanks.
  • Prepare and/or review technical specifications.
  • Conduct inter-disciplinary delivery checking.
  • Prepare and/or review technical clarification of pressure vessel vendor bids to ensure vendor compliance with applicable standards.
  • Prepare and/or review technical reports to support order placement of air coolers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, specialist equipment, and filters to ensure vendor compliance with standards.
  • Provide project technical support and familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, and Hazards and Operability (HAZOPs).
  • Ensure quality and timeliness for deliverables.
  • Prepare and/or review vendor proposals and technical clarifications.
  • Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface during the design development.
  • Coordinate the design effort to support the materials requisitions and ensure these documents comply with technical project specifications.
  • Analyse disputed items from technical and contractual aspects and prepare required official responses.
  • Responsible for processing and following up on change order requests, as well as preparing required justification work sheets, issuing change order requests to contractors, and leading the scope alignment process with contractors.

Job Purpose

Development of discipline design basis, technical specifications, proactive management of vendor technical interfaces, leadership in the identification, submittal and resolution of scope changes and deviations, and coordination with other disciplines. This position involves ensuring conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as to company QA system, policies, and procedures.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

Requirements

Educational & Technical Requirements:


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent; chartered status is preferable.

  • 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas industry petrochemical projects.

  • Good working knowledge of relevant standards and procedures as well as international standards.

  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
