Job Description
Band 6: £38,682 - £46,580
Full time hours: 37.5 hours per week

If so, then come and join our innovative and first-class team to provide care for patients with a wide range of presentations.
Our team care for patients across 12 different wards covering multiple specialties including respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology and general medical wards. This approach of collaborative care will allow you to develop your skills across all types of physiotherapy resulting in excellence in clinical knowledge and practice. You will be supported and guided by an integrated therapy team as well as work with the wider MDT including doctors, nurses, discharge planners and many more.
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust will support you to develop your clinical and leadership skills, and with the growing partnership with Portsmouth University you will have opportunities to become involved in research.
Although this is a static role, you will gain experience with a wide range of patients across multiple specialties. You will be a part of the Medical Therapy Team – a large, friendly, and hardworking group who fully support the development of their staff. The post holder is expected to be part of the weekend rota and the respiratory on-call rota. On-call training and competencies are provided by a core group of respiratory physiotherapists via a well-established training programme.

Job Summary:
- To work within a designated clinical setting
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- To be responsible for a caseload, performing integrated and specialist physio assessments of patients with diverse presentations. Setting goals and developing and delivering an individualised treatment plan as part of a multi professional programme of care
- To be proactive in supporting the discharge process to facilitate efficient patient flow
- To work in an integrated way with OT, carrying out cross boundary working when appropriate and indicated.
- To supervise and provide clinical support for Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants, Technicians and Associate Practitioners.
- To supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students.
- Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects
- Will be required to work a 7-day working pattern to support weekend working
- Participation in the out of hours respiratory on call service and participate in the delivery of the on call training programme
Qualifications

- Health Care Professions Council Registration
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, or equivalent
Experience
- 18 months – 2 years post qualification experience
