Job summary

Henshall & Sheehy Support Services is seeking a Static Air Conditioning Engineer to join our Canary Wharf site-based team. You will install, service, and repair fixed air conditioning and refrigeration systems to high standards.

You will diagnose faults, monitor performance and maintain accurate service records, while liaising with clients and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification or certification in refrigeration, air conditioning, HVAC or building services engineering.
• Proven experience as a Static Refrigeration Engineer, Air Conditioning Engineer, HVAC Engineer or similar.
• Knowledge of F-Gas regulations, refrigerant handling, safety procedures and environmental legislation.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and manufacturer manuals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, servicing, planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on fixed air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and refrigeration faults using specialist tools, test equipment and manufacturer information.
• Install, maintain and replace key components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, fans, pumps, controls and refrigerant pipework.
• Complete refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing and charging in line with F-Gas regulations and relevant legislation.
• Monitor system performance, temperature, pressure and efficiency, responding to breakdowns within agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, maintenance records, parts usage and refrigerant records.
• Liaise with clients, site management, internal engineering teams, manufacturers and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Comply with all health and safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, environmental requirements and quality standards.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Static Air Conditioning Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in Canary Wharf.

The role involves providing technical expertise across the installation, servicing, planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair of fixed air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

You will work closely with the Contract Manager, facilities teams, clients and specialist subcontractors to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably while maintaining high standards of customer service.

• Strong knowledge of fixed refrigeration and air conditioning systems, electrical circuits, controls and associated building services.
• Good understanding of F-Gas regulations, refrigerant handling, safety procedures and environmental legislation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and manufacturer manuals.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, including in plant rooms, confined spaces and elevated working areas where required.
