Job summary

Starbucks in Oswestry is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a high-performing team and ensure outstanding customer experiences while supporting the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.

You will guide beverage preparation, uphold store standards, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages customers to return. The role offers flexible shifts, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team by acting as second-in-command, delegating tasks, creating a positive working environment, and helping colleagues feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
• Coach, develop, and inspire team members through regular guidance, feedback, and mentoring to help individuals grow and perform at their best.
• Drive operational success by supporting rota planning in line with budgets and labour targets while encouraging the team to maximise promotions and enhance the customer experience.
• Recognise and celebrate success by creating an engaging environment where individual and team achievements are acknowledged and rewarded.
• Take ownership of store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance and maintaining Starbucks standards across all areas of the business.
• Deliver commercial results by managing stock, overseeing inventory control and reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
• Maintain exceptional store standards by ensuring merchandising, availability, presentation, and food safety requirements are consistently achieved.
• Champion safety and compliance by ensuring Health & Safety, Food Safety, hygiene, and cash handling procedures are followed to the highest standards.
