Job Description:

Pearson is looking to recruit Standard Verifiers for Entry Level Functional Skills (Maths and English) and Levels 1&2 (Maths and English) to undertake sampling of assessment and internal verification decisions, ensuring standards are maintained. Responsibilities include supporting centres during sampling, delivering programmes to meet standards, and providing guidance on assessment processes.

Responsibilities:
  1. Verify learners’ work from allocated centres and complete reports within deadlines.
  2. Conduct postal sampling to verify delivery, assessment, and internal verification decisions.
  3. Review centres’ systems and resources annually, reporting findings and suggesting improvements.
  4. Develop targeted actions for centres to uphold standards.
  5. Follow protocols outlined in the Centre Guide for Quality Assurance.
  6. Assist with general queries related to ELFS qualifications.
  7. Attend training sessions to stay updated on processes and standards.
  8. Perform other duties related to assessment roles.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of centres and learners.
  10. Act professionally to uphold Pearson’s reputation.
Previous Work Experience:
  • Evidence of CPD in assessment and vocational qualifications delivery.
  • Experience working in a centre within the last four years.
  • Experience with Functional Skills.
  • Willingness to engage in online training and use technology for communication and support.
  • Experience teaching Entry Level and Levels 1&2 (Maths and English).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to develop and monitor action plans.
  • Excellent communication, IT, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding of role-specific specifications.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Own IT equipment capable of running Pearson software.
