SF Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a long-standing SME client to recruit a standalone HR Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a hands-on, varied generalist role.
You'll play a key part in shaping and nurturing a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture, while ensuring the business remains fully compliant with UK employment legislation. As the sole HR presence on site, you'll be the go-to person for all people matters, providing support across recruitment, employee relations, learning & development, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and the company handbook
- Align people strategy with wider business goals and operational plans
- Drive initiatives to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
- Manage all aspects of employee relations including disciplinary, grievance, and conflict resolution
- Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from attraction to onboarding
- Coach, mentor and challenge managers
- Oversee induction and onboarding processes for new starters
- Identify skills gaps and coordinate relevant learning & development opportunities
- Collaborate closely with the Health & Safety team
- Ensure ongoing compliance with UK employment law and industry specific regulations
- Work alongside the Finance team on payroll and benefits administration
About You:
- Proven HR generalist experience, ideally within an SME or standalone capacity
- Confident managing ER issues independently
- Able to build strong relationships at all levels
- Solid understanding of UK employment legislation
- Able to work onsite full-time
