Stamping’s GME team oversees the complete forming process for all major stamped parts across JLR vehicles, from tooling development to successful launch within internal facilities. As a Part Quality & Measurement Planning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the dimensional, cosmetic, and formability aspects of sheet metal components, supporting both launch and off-cycle projects.


The role involves designing and delivering part quality standards, data packages, and measurement equipment to suppliers and manufacturing plants, while maintaining strong links between engineering, the supply base, and operations to continuously improve processes and uphold JLR’s core creator code behaviours.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Own the delivery of part quality and measurement systems across stamping operations and supplier networks.

  • Lead procurement and buy-off of checking fixtures from external suppliers
  • Drive MSA and R&R activities across internal and supplier environments
  • Assess GD&T and define measurement strategies for stamped components
  • Facilitate cosmetic and formability validation events during launch
  • Develop and implement metrology standards and processes
  • Support off-cycle improvement projects focused on part quality

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Bring deep technical expertise and hands-on experience to deliver precision and performance in stamped part quality.

  • Strong GD&T knowledge and experience in measurement point creation
  • Proven background in CMM or GOM programming and dimensional analysis
  • Extensive experience in fixture/gauge procurement and buy-off
  • Skilled in conducting Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
  • Understanding of cosmetic defect maturation and sheet metal formability
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across multiple West-Midlands based sites
