Job Summary

Exciting opportunities have arisen for Stakeholder Engagement Managers (AFC B6) within the NHS Pensions Service Stakeholder Engagement Team.

Are you passionate about developing strong relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where your creativity and adaptability shine? Do you have experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs?

As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will deliver excellent customer service to a portfolio of stakeholders. Develop strong relationships across services to support the NHSBSA Workforce strategic aims, support Retirement Services, and contribute to the national retention of NHS staff in line with NHS England guidance. You will support the Service Delivery Manager in implementing and managing change with stakeholders, always seeking innovative ways to communicate and engage effectively.

Main duties of the job

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver NHSBSA Workforce aims and support NHS staff retention initiatives.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders regarding NHS Pensions, supporting change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure stakeholder compliance with NHS Pension Scheme Regulations and the Pension Regulator Code of Practice through relationship management.
  • Identify trends and issues, devising actions to improve stakeholder engagement and performance.
  • Own the Stakeholder Engagement agenda, continuously seeking improvements to stakeholder communication and engagement strategies.

We have both permanent and 6-month fixed-term positions (subject to review).

Job Description

Job responsibilities

  • Identify stakeholders, analyze their needs, and plan engagement strategies.
  • Act as the primary contact for NHSPS administrative issues for key stakeholders, including NHS employers and non-NHS organizations, ensuring they understand their roles as local administrators of the NHS Pension Scheme.
  • Influence stakeholder attitudes and decisions to foster cooperation and mutual benefit.
  • Develop and deliver training and guidance to stakeholders on relevant processes and legislative changes.
  • Create guidance and process instructions, delivering presentations to external forums to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Utilize innovative technology, such as the My NHS Pension Self Service Portal, to enhance information delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Respond to queries and complaints promptly, providing accurate feedback.
  • Manage relationships with third-party stakeholders, including Financial Advisors, Trade Unions, and payroll providers, ensuring scheme rules are adhered to.
  • Communicate complex information effectively, providing timely technical responses.
  • Apply creative solutions to meet stakeholder needs while complying with NHS Pension Scheme regulations.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication within NHS Pensions and with external stakeholders, coordinating messaging and engagement efforts.
  • Demonstrate organizational values, promoting fairness, diversity, and respect in all dealings.
  • Identify personal training needs and work with managers to set objectives.
