Job summary

Academy Music Group (AMG), owner of O2 Academy Oxford, seeks an Assistant Technical Manager to lead stage operations, supervise a diverse team, and ensure safe, smooth productions from load-in to loadout. You will collaborate with the Technical Manager and uphold high standards across all live events in a busy venue.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events demand.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stage and technical management for all shows and events.
• Support recruitment and rota management of back-of-house staff and crew.
• Act as the point of contact for advancing and technical fulfilment on productions.
• Lead on day-to-day compliance with Company guidelines and working practices.
• Drive Health & Safety compliance.
• Assist with departmental budgeting.
• Maintain the asset register for in-house equipment.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to high standards.
• Supervise service regimes, PAT testing, and inspection reports.
• Provide first-class client and customer service.
• Supervise technical employees as required.
• Attend pre-show safety briefings with venue management.
