Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a psychologist (0.8 WTE) to provide one-to-one consultations for staff, offer consultancy to managers, and design group interventions within the Staff Psychology and Counselling Service.

You will supervise trainees and staff, contribute to governance and service development, and support staff through traumatic incidents, with HCPC registration and a doctorate essential.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent.
• HCPC Practitioner Psychologist registration or eligible.
• Experience of working within adult mental health.
• Experience of, or understanding of, working in the NHS.
• Experience of providing interventions across a range of complex presentations.

Responsibilities

• Providing psychological consultations to individual staff who refer in about concerns affecting them at work.
• Offering consultancy to managers on team issues.
• Designing and delivering interventions with staff teams.
• Developing and delivering psychologically informed groups.
• Helping to deliver the pathway for staff affected by distressing or potentially traumatic incidents.
• Using research skills for audit, service evaluation and development, and research within the service.
• Providing supervision to psychological professionals in the service, such as trainee psychologists and counsellors.
• Contributing to supervision, governance and service evaluation and development.
• Taking forward a project within the service.
• Working autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies and procedures.

Education
