Staff Software Engineer / Developer (Kotlin AWS React) Hybrid WFH to £110k

Would you like to advance your career in an impactful, hands-on Software Engineer role working on Tech for Good?

You could join a HealthTech start-up founded by Cambridge-educated management consultants, aiming to improve patient and social care through complex technology that enhances access to patient records, fosters collaboration among healthcare providers, and improves nursing and medical care.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will collaborate with the CTO on the design and architecture of the product's tech stack, working on Greenfield applications. The tech stack includes Kotlin, SpringBoot, and AWS on the backend, with TypeScript, React, and Next.js on the front end.

You will be involved in architecture, design, and coding, handling complex business logic, authentication, and security, across the full tech stack to develop the beta product.

Location / WFH:

You can work remotely most of the time. The company has an office in London where you will join once every three weeks and occasionally visit clients in the South West for requirements gathering and bespoke product development.

About you:

• Expertise in software engineering best practices, with experience across the full development lifecycle and tech stack
• Experience with Kotlin, Java, SpringBoot, and AWS
• Good understanding of APIs and permission-based systems
• Strong grasp of software architecture and experience building systems from scratch
• Ability to assess, recommend, and make technical decisions aligned with long-term product strategy
• Strong technical project leadership skills and experience working with clients
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience with RBAC systems is a plus
