Job summary

UAVE Ltd is seeking a Software / Coding Engineer to join our small, dynamic team at our West Wales facility. This Staff-grade position is suited to an engineer with a minimum of 2 years' prior industry experience, who is degree-level qualified and ready to take on meaningful responsibility across our software estate.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related science-led discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' prior industry experience in a software or coding engineering role.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and Java.
• Experience with SQL database systems and client portal interfaces.
• Experience with App development and payload integration would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with GitHub and code repository management.

Responsibilities

• Develop new code to support diverse payloads on our aircraft.
• Ensure payload software fully integrates with the UAS across aircraft and ground station contexts.
• Review, update, archive or manage legacy code.
• Establish and maintain version control and documentation practices.
• Write code for deployment across platforms including Raspberry Pi and Arduino.
• Design, develop and maintain SQL database systems.
• Produce clear technical documentation and client-facing reports.
• Work with Chief Engineer to align software with project requirements.
• Monitor industry technology advances to support product enhancement.
