Founded in 2005, Bazaarvoice is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with offices worldwide. We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Insights Back-End team. You will help build data pipelines, data stores, and API layers to power client dashboards, raw data reporting, and product performance reporting.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning, designing, implementing, and supporting major backend data components.
• Defining data aggregation and accessibility to support application needs with high availability and performance.
• Guiding technology choices and best practices.
• Mentoring team members.

Who you are:

• 7+ years of experience with scalable, distributed systems using open-source tools.
• Proven experience with Object-Oriented languages and scripting (e.g., Java, C++, Python, Ruby).
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and API frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Experience with big data infrastructures (HBase, RDBMS, Redshift).
• Knowledge of database optimization techniques.
• Experience with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven, Jenkins, GitHub.
• Additional experience with AWS services, scheduling tools, ETL, data warehousing, and prototype development is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
