Job summary

Arm's Central Technology Machine Learning Group in Cambridge is seeking software engineers to design and implement an AI/ML compiler and ensure smooth integration with our ML software stack.

The role requires strong C++ and Python skills, experience across the software lifecycle, and the ability to work independently or in small groups. This is a hybrid role in the UK with opportunities to contribute to innovative ML workloads.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the whole software lifecycle from design to production and support.
  • Strong programming in C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of ML compilation technologies (MLIR/TVM) and compilers.
  • Ability to test software and design for testability.
  • Ability to work independently or in small teams with initiative.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Arm's Central Technology Machine Learning Group is looking for highly motivated and creative software engineers to join the ML compiler development team!

Responsibilities

You will contribute to the design and implementation of an AI/ML compiler and ensure that it integrates well with rest of our ML software stack.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience with the whole software lifecycle - taking complex software from initial design through to production and support
  • Strong programming expertise in C++ and Python
  • Compiler knowledge, ideally experience with ML compilation technologies such as MLIR or TVM
  • Understanding of how to rigorously test software and design software for test
  • Ability to effectively use AI tools when working on a shared codebase
  • Capable of working independently or in small groups, with a high degree of initiative
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Good communication skills and collaborative mindset
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
  • Experience using software simulators and/or FPGAs
  • Exposure to any of the following: driver development, inference engines like llama.cpp or vLLM, performance analysis of ML and GenAI workloads, knowledge of Neural Network Processing Units (NPU) or Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and how they are used for ML.
