Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Senior or Staff Robotics Perception Engineer to design and deploy perception and navigation for autonomous aircraft operating in GNSS-denied environments. You will advance VIO/SLAM, state estimation, and sensor fusion on embedded platforms, integrating perception with flight-control systems.

You will implement real-time computer-vision pipelines using GStreamer, V4L2, and OpenCV, optimize workloads on NVIDIA Jetson/Orin, and contribute to robust, field-ready autonomy

Qualifications

• Hands-on robotics perception or navigation development.
• Expertise in VIO, visual SLAM, or GNSS-denied localization.
• Strong camera–IMU fusion, state estimation, calibration, and time synchronization.
• Proficient C++ development on Linux and embedded deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy VIO, visual SLAM, localization, and vision-based navigation for autonomous aircraft.
• Develop robust state-estimation and sensor-fusion using cameras and IMUs.
• Build geometric vision components: feature tracking, optical flow, pose estimation, triangulation, localization.
• Develop geo-localization and map-matching using satellite/imagery.
• Integrate perception with flight-control and autonomy systems.
• Implement and optimize algorithms in C++ for real-time embedded Linux.
• Develop real-time camera and video pipelines with GStreamer/V4L2.
• Optimize workloads for NVIDIA Jetson/Orin, including CUDA/TensorRT.
