Job summary

Miro is seeking a visionary Staff Product Designer to shape the canvas formats experiences, including prototyping and slides. This isn’t just about refining a feature; it’s about defining the future of how millions of people bring their ideas to life on its canvas.

As a leader within the Canvas Modes stream, you will drive the design evolution of these formats, helping Miro customers turn rough thinking and code-based content into polished, persuasive content on its canvas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience in B2B SaaS or AI-focused roles.
• 2–3 years operating at Staff/Principal level with ownership of complex initiatives.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create clear, user-focused products and strategies.
• A deep understanding of AI and AI design tooling.
• Proven experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX design, and engineering.
• Deep understanding of UX practices, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the evolution of Miro’s canvas-based formats. You’ll articulate a near-term design vision that disrupts the norms and looks where the market is going.
• Be a tireless innovator in the AI space. You will explore how generative AI can collapse the gap between a rough idea and rich, interactive content on a Miro board.
• Approach the product with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of ownership. You’ll navigate ambiguity, build lean experiments, and treat the format experience as your own startup within Miro.
• Leverage your deep understanding of the competitive landscape to create a best-in-class experience that rivals any competitor while maintaining Miro’s ease of use and considering our other suite of formats.
• Partner with Product and Engineering across the org to solve complex technical- and design challenges around AI quality, discoverability, and the seamless transition between the ‘infinite canvas’ and the format experiences within it.
• Set the bar for design excellence at Miro, mentoring other designers and contributing to the evolution of our design systems and internal tooling.

About the Role

Miro is looking for a visionary Staff Product Designer to support the design of Miro’s canvas formats experiences, including prototyping and slides. This isn’t just about refining a feature; it’s about defining the future of how millions of people bring their ideas to life.

As a key leader within the Canvas Modes stream, you will lead the design evolution of these formats, helping Miro customers turn rough thinking and code-based content from in- and outside of Miro into polished, persuasive content on its canvas. We are looking for an AI Native designer -someone who doesn’t just see AI as a feature but as a fundamental shift in the product development process and ultimately, a massive opportunity.

You will be tasked with shaping not just where Miro’s formats offering should be, but where it is going - ensuring we aren't just keeping pace with the market, but setting it.

What you’ll do

What you’ll need

• A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create clear, user‑focused products and strategies. Demonstrating both the impact on user experience and business goals.
• A deep understanding of AI and AI design tooling and the ability to show you’re leading the charge.
• Proven experience working closely with cross‑functional teams, including product management, UX design, and engineering, to deliver seamless content solutions.
• Deep understanding of UX practices, information architecture, and user‑centred design methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the value of design and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
• A proactive and flexible approach, comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑paced, sometimes ambiguous environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Experience working on design tools, editors, or creative software is a massive plus.
