Job description

Your new company
This role is within the Department for Infrastructure in the Northern Ireland Civil Service. This is a temporary contract which will be 9 months+ and will be extended. You will have the chance to go for permanency in external competitions throughout your time in this role. This temporary role will give you the chance to gain experience and knowledge in the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Your new role
You will be working largely as interm support for the Deputy Secretary - largely the financial support under Judith. Managing collective piece, planning and community transport-the nature of work is largely budget expenditure, payment approvals, monitoring spending, setting budgets, fees and looking at costs, analysing community transport - looking at financial information and some analysis. Management Accountant rather than financial accountant. Preference full-time could accommodate 30 hours in the office-1 or 2 days a week-and the day can be picked. Moving towards 2 days per week.

To provide interim business support for the CPPT group and Planning Directorates, including special exercises on planning financial sustainability and community transport financial and funding analysis.
To include :

  • Salary profiling and costing;
  • Review and analysis of planning and community transport income and expenditure; and
  • Review of funding methodologies.


What you'll need to succeed

  • One year's post-qualification finance experience including staffing and resource budget management, financial data analysis, and service costing.
  • Excel and financial accounting software experience.
  • Active, paying member of an accredited accountancy body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) or to be of an equivalent qualification standard.



What you'll get in return
22.68 p/h 38,936 annually, 37-hour working week, 37 days annual leave, 2 days in the office and flexible working options.
