Job description

We are looking for a dynamic Nurse to join our team of committed staff and to help our patients regain their independence and prepare them for a safe discharge.

Nighttime contracts and family flexible hours are available to help anyone struggling with childcare or other commitments.

We currently operate a 14-bedded unit for patients with Frailty and sub-acute or chronic medical illnesses.

We have fantastic links with the wider MDT and have dedicated Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working with us as part of the team, so education and support are never far away. We have recently become part of the community and therapies division and look forward to a closer working relationship with community teams.

Our workforce currently incorporates a team of very experienced Nurses and Healthcare Assistants so we are able to provide a huge amount of support and subsequent development opportunities to the right applicant.

Do you like a challenge and enjoy working with a committed team to ensure patients receive the best care? Do you have a thirst for helping to develop and shape services in a small hospital? Do you want to work in a smaller hospital with great Parking and easy Access to York, Doncaster, Leeds, Hull and Scunthorpe? If the answer is yes then Ward 3 at Goole is the ideal place for you!

As the population is aging and healthcare is changing we are developing our service and working closely with our stakeholders to ensure we have the right resources to meet the needs of our local community. As part of this we are working with the hospital charity to create a cafe style day room that encourages rehabilitaion and independence. We aim to care for our dementia patients in a supportive environment with access to a sensory garden that our staff volunteers manage at our site. We aim to support patients with long-term health conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson’s, Asthma, Dementia and those patients stepping down from extended ICU stays etc in a different way, away from the 'busyness' of the trust's acute wards.

Our new Consultant has new and exciting ideas that may help bridge the gap between the community and secondary care, allowing us to reach out into the community and provide both a reactive and proactive service to our service users. The successful applicants can help us to shape this service for the NLaG community.

A Registered Nurse working as part of a ward/department team, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. You will be responsible for allocating and checking the work of junior staff and health care assistants.

Regularly takes charge of the Ward/Department after appropriate training and support.

Engagement with stakeholders required.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
