(Rotational post requiring both day and night shift working)

Band 5 - Salary Range £33,247 - £41,424 per annum (pro-rata for part time posts)
Plus Distant Island Allowance of £2,482 per annum (pro rata)
and Relocation Assistance of up to £8,000 available

Our surgical ward provides care to adult and paediatric patients from a wide range of specialities including ENT, Ophthalmology, Max Fax, Dental, Orthopaedic, paediatric, as well as general surgery. This busy, diverse ward has 22 beds and incorporates a 2 bedded critical care unit.

As a staff nurse on Ward 1/HDU you will be responsible for all aspects of care for patients undergoing surgery both as emergencies and list admissions. Part of your responsibility will be to ensure the environment is safe and effective for delivery of care to adults and children. You will provide excellent care from admission to discharge. You will participate in ward audit, clinical quality indicators and safety cross data collection. Flexibility to work in other areas of the organisation, either hospital or community based, is also essential.

You will be a Registered General Nurse keen to obtain surgical care knowledge and experience. Previous surgical experience would be an advantage, though not necessary. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.
