Job summary

The London Clinic is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join the Urology, Nephrology and Neurosciences team at 20 Devonshire Place, London. You will care for patients with a range of specialist needs, building clinical knowledge and ensuring safe, compassionate nursing.

You will assess, deliver and monitor care, support patients through investigations, treatments and discharge, and work closely with the team to maintain high standards of practice and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years of Band 5 experience in a gastrointestinal environment.
• Experience in acute nursing and high standards of clinical practice.
• Competence in intravenous medicines administration, venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording and epidural care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care.
• Prepare patients for investigations and procedures and provide care before and after surgery.
• Monitor patients' recovery and escalate concerns promptly.
• Support pain management, mobility, nutrition, personal care and recovery.
• Administer medicines safely and provide treatment within your assessed competencies.
• Communicate clearly with patients and relatives and involve them in decisions.
• Coordinate treatment and discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and handovers.
• Support Healthcare Assistants, students and colleagues, contributing to a positive team environment.
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety procedures and contribute to audits and improvements in care.
