Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Theatre Admissions Unit at the Royal Site. You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team, following the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

Job description

The postholder will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.

Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse.

Following successful completion of foundation gateway will be required to take charge of ward/department for a span of duty.

The postholder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.

For this role you will preferably have a strong surgical background, demonstrate excellent communication skills, you must display a positive and professional manner, be open to change and have the drive and commitment to aim to get it right for every patient every time.

The Theatre Admissions Unit takes the majority of patients being admitted for surgery and procedures. We admit them peri-operatively and post-operatively recover and discharge them if they are day case patients.

We cover a range of specialities, including but not limited too; Urology, Colorectal, Breast, Ophthalmology, Interventional Radiology, and General Surgery., Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital & Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
