Job description

We are looking to recruit newly qualified or registered Mental Health Nurses to join our well-established and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team at Marlborough House Adolescent Inpatient unit based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

We are a 12 bedded inpatient unit supporting young people with a variety of mental health needs including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, Psychosis, OCD, and emotional dysregulation. With a reputation for excellence and providing a range of evidence-based care, our service offers a model of care which is tailored to the individual's needs for stabilization and recovery.

As a staff nurse at Marlborough House, you will coordinate and oversee the delivery of care and day-to-day management of the ward. You will also key work a small number of young people on the ward and will ensure they have up-to-date risk assessments and care plans that reflect their individual needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the nursing team on duty, allocating routine daily activities and overseeing the delivery of a high-quality service to the young people on the ward.
  • Support the delivery of our Eating Disorder Program (EDP) and key working and supervising meals with young people who are on this care pathway.
  • Support the delivery of our Managing Emotions Pathway (MEP) and key working and assisting young people to learn and apply DBT-informed skills to help manage distress.
  • Take a proactive role in decision-making on the daily care and risk management of young people and will care plan and update risk assessments for young people to ensure their care needs are all met.
Requirements:
  • A willingness and ability to role model healthy eating behavior with patients and support as trained/required.
  • A level of fitness and ability to competently perform Physical Interventions and/or Breakaway techniques (practical and theory) following training.
