Job Summary

We are seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly team at the renowned St. Andrews Centre Burns Intensive Care Unit. Our unit provides 24/7 care to both adult and paediatric patients, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for professional growth.

Existing ward experience can be built upon, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills. We provide structured support through our clinical facilitation team and senior nursing staff. Clinical progression is encouraged within our large, multidisciplinary team. Informal visits are welcomed and encouraged.

Applicants should demonstrate compassion and empathy, with relevant experience in caring for others through employment, education, training, or voluntary work.

Your role involves caring for complex Burns and Medical Skin Loss patients requiring intensive and high dependency nursing care.

Main Duties
  1. Ensure compliance with the NMC Code of Conduct, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, individualised patient care and enhance the patient experience.
  2. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document holistic care that respects patients' dignity and beliefs, maintaining effective communication within the care team, with patients, relatives, and visitors.
  3. Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff; participate in educational and professional development; uphold evidence-based practice; and adhere to organisational policies and local competency frameworks.
  4. Lead by example, embodying the trust's values and behaviours, and demonstrate ongoing professional development tailored to individual, team, and organisational needs.
