Are you an adult trained nurse looking to develop your nursing skills in paediatric neurosciences?

The Neurosciences team at GOSH are looking for band 5 & 6 nurses to join them working on Koala & Possum or to rotate across both wards. This experience will enable you to develop skills in medical, surgical, and high dependency paediatric neuroscience nursing at a world-renowned Hospital. The hospital also offers the opportunity to be involved in new and novel therapies from research to NHS funded treatments. No previous neuroscience / paediatric experience is required. Full support and training will be provided by our ward-based education and management team.

Koala ward is a 24 bedded state-of-the-art children’s ward caring for children 0-16 years of age with epilepsy, neurosurgical, neurological, and craniofacial conditions. We provide world class care for conditions such as hydrocephalus, complex epilepsy, neurovascular issues and brain tumours. Koala ward can offer you the opportunity to further develop your high dependency skills in a fast-paced environment.

Possum ward is a brand new 8 bedded neurosciences unit opening in December 2023. The unit specialises in the management of children 0-16 years of age with a wide variety of neurological conditions including stroke and complex epilepsy. This smaller unit will enable you to consolidate your skills and continue to explore the ever-changing world of neurosciences.
