We are currently looking for an experienced, compassionate, and caring Registered Nurse who is committed to providing the highest quality of care to join the team within the Respiratory Support Unit here at the PRUH.

As a Staff Nurse, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a 12-bedded acute respiratory ward, providing acute and complex care for our patients.

As a team, we strive to maintain a high standard of care, which is reflected in the positive feedback we receive from patients and their relatives who have experienced our ward.

Main duties of the job
  • You will care for patients with complex respiratory needs such as tracheostomies, CPAP, BiPAP, Optiflow, and chest drainage. Competence in these skills, in addition to venepuncture, cannulation, NG tube insertion, and male catheterisation, is essential for this position.
  • You will support families and carers when patients are critically ill and/or approaching the end of their life.
  • You will work closely with our i-mobile team to ensure that our high-dependency patients are monitored safely.
  • You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team (MDT) to facilitate safe discharges.
  • Experience in mentoring students and supporting junior staff is also an integral part of this role.
