Victoria Hospital

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 staff nurse to join our team and work within the inpatient Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) service based at Victoria hospice. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality, and familiarity with NHS Fife documentation and policies. The role involves delivering holistic care to people of Fife with advanced life-limiting illnesses. Candidates should have significant experience in medical/surgical settings and an understanding of caring for palliative patients. Essential skills include syringe driver, venepuncture, cannulation, central line and drain management, and catheterisation. The inpatient ward has 9 beds, providing specialist palliative care for complex cases. The position involves working over 3 days/nights and weekends, with potential to work in other areas within the health and social care partnership. Previous applicants need not reapply.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

The salary for this post is pro rata for part-time hours.
