Job summary

Would you like the opportunity to work with an Outpatients Department? If so, this is the role for you! An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse within the DTC Nursing division at St. Peters Hospital Outpatient Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and committed registered nurse with NMC registration and specialist professional knowledge to join our highly motivated team. We offer a supportive, friendly, and caring environment along with numerous development opportunities to showcase your skills. The post holder will be primarily based at St. Peters Outpatients Department but may need to work across both Trusts and other Trust sites as required.

Main duties of the job
  1. General Responsibilities
  2. Follow safe working practices and take reasonable measures for the protection of yourself and patients.
  3. Adhere to the Trust's Code of Conduct for Support Staff at all times.
  4. Be aware of and contribute to the protection of vulnerable adults/individuals from abuse.
  5. Adhere to Health and Safety and Infection Control Policies; report concerns immediately.
Clinical Responsibility
  1. Promote and provide health education for patients and their carers.
  2. Ensure clinical and housekeeping practices follow policies to prevent hospital-acquired infections, in collaboration with the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
  3. Support quality assurance initiatives to improve patient care and environment.
  4. Work effectively as part of the ward team, aligned with nursing philosophy.
Leadership or managerial
  1. Act as an effective role model and demonstrate leadership skills.
  2. Deputise for the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and deputies.
  3. Ensure nursing staff understand their duties, responsibilities, and expected standards of performance and conduct.
  4. Promote good communication and collaborative working within the multidisciplinary team, both within the unit and across the Trust.
