Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The shift pattern for this permanent part time post is Mon-Fri, day shift.

Inverclyde Royal Hospital Greenock has an exciting opening for a keen Band 5 registered nurse in the Ophthalmology outpatient department. The successful candidate will work as part of the Ophthalmology team and be responsible for the assessment, delivery, and supervision of all care needs within the outpatient/day bed setting. The role requires working collaboratively with both nursing and medical teams in a busy clinical area. The candidate is expected to provide high-quality evidence-based care by utilising clinical skills to assess patients' needs, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes. Flexibility, forward-thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a changing and dynamic environment are essential. Excellent communication and decision-making skills, along with evidence of ongoing professional development, are required.
