Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care and a high level of communication skills, as you act as the interface between patients and other healthcare professionals. The Medical Day Unit has 2 treatment rooms, both with 10 chairs, working alongside the clinical haematology outpatient department. We specialise in intravenous therapies with a specific focus on haematological conditions.


Key Duties

  • Assess, plan, develop and implement programmes of care to patients, providing advice in a variety of settings.
  • Carry out nursing procedures in line with current NMC standards of proficiency.
  • Ensure the health, wellbeing, and independence of patients and service users across healthcare settings.
  • Supervise junior staff and all learners.
  • Understand and demonstrate the Trust values.

Person Specification

Knowledge

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of NMC professional standards for practice contained within the code.
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment.
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
  • Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation.

Qualifications

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse (degree/diploma).
  • Current NMC Registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
