Job description


An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the East Kent Rehabilitation Service, at The Grove.

The Grove is situated in Ramsgate, and is one of 6 Rehabilitation Units across Kent, which provides specialist inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs. The unit comprises of 8 single bedrooms and is staffed 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.

The multidisciplinary team provides a wide range of individualised interventions delivered by nursing, medical, psychological, occupational therapy and peer support clinicians. As a Staff Nurse, you would be the named nurse for a small number of clients on the unit and be expected to coordinate a recovery-focused, individualised plan of care, in addition to supporting the service users through the rehabilitation pathway.
• Work across a 24-hour shift pattern, 7 days a week.
• Manage the shift when on duty and coordinate the workload for junior staff delegation.
• Have a good understanding of the Mental Health Act, Safeguarding frameworks and clinical documentation.
• Administer and dispense medication (Medication management).
• Champion recovery-oriented practice, to include group work, contribute to and facilitate the therapeutic intervention programme.
• Follow Health and Safety protocols and Policies.
• Risk Management and patient safety.
• Deliver effective and quality care alongside patients.
• Keep up to date with mandatory and CPD requirements (Trust Policy/NMC Revalidation).
