North Devon District Hospital ("NDDH") is looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering excellent patient care to join our elective orthopaedic ward.

Jubilee Ward is a new modular ward on the NDDH site to enable the surgical recovery of ring-fenced orthopaedic beds and is built on the foundations of a highly functioning and caring multi-disciplinary team, who pride themselves on the delivery of quality, safe and compassionate care. The speciality offers depth and strength to its skill set supported by nurses, nursing associates, HCSWs, therapists and medical staff who collectively drive patient centred innovation.

In 2020 the Elective Orthopaedic nursing team were winners in the Surgical Nursing category of the Nursing Times awards for their work in the nurse led mobilisation and discharge within the Elective Orthopaedic Rapid Recovery service offered here at the North Devon District hospital. Working in collaboration with the different departments associated with this project they have successfully improved the patient experience and pathway for those undergoing Hip and Knee arthroplasty.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and IT skills, alongside good time management and the ability to prioritise their own work load.

Working Pattern: Up to 37.5 hrs per week including some weekends and nights.
