An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit staff nurses for ITU/HDU/POCCU.

We are very proud of our award-winning Critical Care Unit. We strive to continually improve and showcase our work, being shortlisted for a Nursing Times Award for the fourth consecutive year and presenting at BACCN conferences.

If you have a caring and compassionate approach and want to join a motivated, friendly, and supportive team, we are keen to hear from you. We require staff with a genuine interest in caring for critically ill patients as part of a multidisciplinary team, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We provide a comprehensive learning package supported by nationally recognized Critical Care competencies.

Previous Critical Care Experience Is Not Essential But Desirable.

An Enhanced DBS check with barred lists for both Adults & Children is required for this post.

  • Provides and receives complex information, communicating sensitively and confidentially regarding patient care plans.
  • Communicates compassionately and empathetically, using persuasion and reassurance.
  • Recognizes barriers to communication and can modify communication styles accordingly.
  • Effectively communicates while providing training to students.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with the wider MDT team.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of training for clinical skills within scope of practice.
  • Ensures safe custody of drugs, following statutory and trust procedures for checking, witnessing, and administering.
  • In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, responds effectively to complaints and escalates as needed.
  • Ensures clinical incidents/near misses are managed, reported, and escalated in a timely manner.
